This has been such an exciting week. All week long I have been thinking about our baby boy and planning the nursery and our registeries. I think we are going to go register tomorrow which will be a lot of fun. I've also signed up for a couple of consignment store events that people told me about. They are in March and, from what I hear, can be a great place to get gently used baby furniture. Their websites are:

I love planning for this stuff!
Matthew felt Sam kick for the first time on Monday!!! We were laying in bed and I put his hand on my belly...he was so excited!
Here is my 20 week picture. I definitely have a bump now! Hopefully at my next appointment I won't have gained 11 pounds in one month, though!!
Have a wonderful week!

Do you think little Sam will be as big of a sports fanatic as his daddy??
I'd say there's a good chance!! Oh, I just can't wait to see our little guy in all these cute things!!

It's a Boy!!!!!!
We went to the doctor today and found out the good news!!! We are having a boy!!
Here is our precious boy, Samuel Watkins Irby. Isn't he cute??
Matthew and I have had this name picked out since we were dating, and I have had it in my mind since high school. We named him this "because [we] asked the Lord for him" (1 Samuel 1:20).
Today was an exciting day, to say the least. Our appointment was set up for 2:00. I think I have a touch of ESP or something because last night I told Matthew that I was worried that our sonographer would be sick today. Sure enough, at 10:00 the Dr.'s office called and said they needed to reschedule because the sonographer was sick!!!!!!!! I was seriously freaking out. Of course we could have just waited until Monday, but that's 3 more days away!! I guess the receptionist could sense my disappointment so she said that we could see this other doctor, but that we had to be there before 11:00. I immediately called Matthew, who left to pick me up (he had brought me to school this morning) and we stressfully headed up there. Thankfully I have an amazing team at school and they got together and took over my class. We got to the doctor's office a little after 11 and thankfully they could still see us. The doctor showed us everything from the brain to the cute little feet, and he said that everything looked perfectly healthy. Praise God! Then he told us it was a boy! We were soooo excited. I am so relieved just to know that everything looks great and that he is healthy. Here are a couple of videos that Matthew took while we were there.
This was such a great experience and we are so thankful that everything is ok. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers!!
Here is a pic of me at 19 weeks. The doctor said I was measuring exactly what I should be at this point.
Oh, and there's Max. He is really excited to be a big brother.:)
Have a great weekend!!

4 more days!!
Sorry, no pictures!!
I feel like time is going by so fast. THIS Friday we have our sonogram and hopefully we will find out what we are having!!! Matthew and I can't wait...it will be so surreal to see our little baby!!! We have names picked out and we will share on Friday!!
Matthew did the sermon at youth worship on Sunday. He has never done anything like this before and he did an awesome job. He talked about the gifts that God has given us and how we should get out of our comfort zone to use these gifts. Matthew definitely has a gift of making people feel comfortable around him, and that's part of the reason why his sermon was so great.
Not much else has been going on around here. We have been BLESSED by people giving us special and generous gifts lately and we are so thankful.
We will hopefully have pictures on Friday to share!!! Have a wonderful week!

A New Year, Lots of Changes
Matthew and I have been thinking a lot about how different 2011 will be than 2010. We are about to start house-hunting so that we can move in May. I am soooo excited about this. I really do love our apartment and it has been PERFECT for us...enough room, very reasonable rent, good neighbors...but it will be SO nice to have a house. I can't wait to paint, decorate, get a grill, have a garage, and have room for all of our stuff. I am such a planner and I already have a list of things that need to be done before we move...I'm hoping to do something every weekend so that it's not too overwhelming. We are also hoping to buy a car within the next year. Matthew cannot drive with a baby in his truck, so it will be much easier for us to both have cars. We've been looking into what we want. My car will be paid off in about a year and half so we won't have to pay two payments for very long.
Of course the baby thing is the biggest change coming our way. After we find out what we're having ( in 12 days!!!) I'm going to make a list of everything we need to register for. Then we'll register, have showers...yikes it's all coming so soon!! We are so excited though and can't wait to see the baby and make sure that everything is ok.
Speaking of the baby, I think I've been feeling it move lately. I felt a flutter on Thursday night while laying in bed, felt it move continually on Friday, and just felt it again while laying on my stomach. I can't wait to feel it more consistently.
This was kind of a boring post but I'll leave you, like always, with a picture. Here I am at 17 weeks. Have a great week!

New Year's
Wow, two posts in one day!! I am on a role!!
We had such a fun New Year's Eve. First we went to Genghis Grill with friends for a nice dinner. Then us, Kara, Frank, and Daniel headed to the Fox and Hound to ring in the new year! We had fun eating, talking and being crazy.
I'm so thankful for Kara and Frank...it's not too often that you find friends where both the girls and the guys enjoy each other a lot. We found that with the Nichols and we just love them!!:)
Now, I know some people do not enjoy New Year's Resolutions (aka my husband). But I absolutely love new beginnings and so that is why I make resolutions every year. Do I always (or really EVER) stick to them? Of course not. But I try to and I think that makes me a better person. So here are my 2011 resolutions:
Be more organized: I got a jump-start today by organizing all of my jewelry. This leads to #2...
Wear more jewelry and focus a little more on my appearance. I really want to be a cute mom in June so I had better start now!!
Read my Bible more and focus on being in the Word daily.
See, those don't seem too hard!
Here is my 16 week picture.
Yes, my tummy is getting bigger but could it just be from all the food I ate this past week???? I don't know!! I try to believe it's the baby.
Only three weeks til we get to see our little one and hopefully find out if we're having a boy or a girl!! And Matthew and I will hopefully have the name picked out by then!!
Hopefully I will post again soon! Have a blessed week!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Wow, I feel like the last week and a half has just been a whirlwind!! We had so much fun over the holiday and I'm so sad to see it come to an end. Here are some highlights from our Christmas and New Year's.
Mom baking while I sat on the couch and did nothing.
My birthday lunch with family...new tradition!!
Christmas with the Irbys. They spoil us!!
Matthew and I exchanged gifts on Christmas Eve. Such a fun time.
Christmas Day at Grandma's house with mom's side of the family. We always have a blast!
The day after Christmas with my family. We went to church, lunch, and then exchanged our gifts. We usually do this at mom and dad's, but improvised this year because of schedules. Next year we will all go to their house at some point!!
We had Christmas with Matthew's extended family that night. We had so much fun and the white elephant gift exchange was out of control!!
I went to Abilene for a couple of days after Christmas just to spend time with Mom, Dad, and Rob. It was nice and relaxing and we got to spend some time with Granny.
We had such a great time!! I guess not it's time to get back into the swing of life again...I'm not sure I'm ready though!!!
