24 Weeks

Here is my 24 week picture. Actually we took it a few minutes ago and I'm 24 weeks, 3 days. I have to hurry because Matthew has a fantasy baseball draft he needs to get to on the computer. I'll blog again this weekend, I promise. This is going to be a crazy week!!

ReCharge

This weekend Matthew and I went on a retreat with the youth from church. We are youth sponsors, in charge of the 9th grade girls. We absolutely LOVE our girls (as well as the rest of the youth and the other sponsors) and we had a blast. It was awesome to see God working in so many lives. Here are a couple of pics of our group:

Pregnancy Post

I turned 23 weeks on Friday. I definitely grew this past week and lots of people have commented on my size. Yikes! I have also been feeling Baby Sam move a lot more lately. In fact, today after school I was tutoring one student. I was just sitting at the table and begin to feel him move like crazy. I looked down at my belly and I could see exactly where he was kicking! It was amazing!!

I am really trying to eat healthily and walk more. I really don't want to gain too much weight. It's so hard for me, though!!

My mom made the CUTEST thing for Samuel's room this week. She sends us something for the baby every month around the date that he is due, and this month's was super cute. I'll just show you:

It is EXACTLY the colors we are doing in his room and incorporates the all star and baseball theme!! I love it and can't wait to hang it up!!

I'm really loving this part of pregnancy. It's assuring to be growing and feeling the baby move. The only negative side-effects I'm having right now are acid reflux/heartburn, a few headaches, a little fatigue, and weight gain. Other than these things, I feel great and I'm getting more excited by the day!!

Valentine's Day

I LOVE celebrating Valentine's Day. Really, I love having a reason to celebrate anything so that's probably why I love it so much. Matthew definitely spoiled me this year and was soooo sweet. On Saturday night he took me to Jaxx Steakhouse. It's a really nice place down the road from us that he found. We got salads, I had fish and pasta, and we shared a delicious dessert. We had a wonderful time!

On Monday morning Matthew had left me a really sweet card in the kitchen for me to find when I got breakfast. He also put a card in my purse for when I got to school! Then he had flowers delivered to school. How sweet is he?? He definitely surprised me.

Then Monday night I made homemade lasagna, salad, bread, and dessert. It was pretty yummy! It was nice to have a nice dinner at home.

22 Weeks

We have had another eventful week! I went to the doctor on Monday and heard the heartbeat again. It's at 145wmp and sounds great! I actually was not supposed to go to the doctor yet, but I had been having some pretty bad pains in my stomach. I was nervous and worried about them, so I went and asked the school nurse about them. She said they were probably  just growing pains but to call my doc just to make sure. The doc said that yes, the pains are just my ligaments growing and are nothing to worry about. I figured that's what was going on but it's good to know for sure.

We had ANOTHER snow day on Wednesday!! I'm not gonna lie...it was nice and I really wanted it. Matthew stayed home also and we pretty much did NOTHING all day. Soooo nice.

Yesterday at school I must have been wearing a shirt that really made me show. One of my sweetest students came in, pointed at my stomach, and said, "Mrs. Irby, I hate to tell you this, but you are looking really fat." Haha I couldn't help but laugh. I did tell her that she should not say fat, but say that the baby is really growing. 

Baby Sam should weigh a little over a pound now and he is about 10 inches long. Our baby bedding came in and I really love it!! Now I'm thinking about making letters for Samuel's room...more on that soon. Have a great week!!

SNOW!!!

Well this week has been sooooo crazy. I can't believe we had FOUR days off of school!! I really can't say that I'm complaining though. Today has been the prettiest day of all because of all the snow we got (I think they said 6 inches on the news this morning but it has been snowing off and on since then so who knows). Matthew, Max, and I went outside to play for a while and had a blast. Here's a couple of short videos of Max having a good time.

So that was our excitement for the week. In pregnancy news, we bought our baby bedding yesterday!! We found a really good deal on some that has the exact colors we want (red, light blue, and dark blue). It has stars on it and is really cute. So, we are going for an "all-star" theme with stars and baseballs. I think it will turn out adorable!! We also registered at Babiesrus and Target. That was a lot of fun.

Here is my 21 week picture. Please don't judge me...I haven't really gotten ready in 4 days AND it was taken from a downward angle which makes my double-chin look HUGE.
